We hope that as many people as possible can experience the fascination of tango. However, the beauty of tango lies in its subtle movements and the conscious posture of the entire body. Therefore, it is inevitable that learning it takes some time.
You might also find tango classes near you. Before investing your time and money in a tango course, I recommend that you check for yourself what Argentine tango really is. If the dance school truly teaches Argentine tango, they will focus on the beauty of movement and posture. However, if the course teaches a basic step (also called “base”) or only figures, you should avoid it. As I already mentioned, tango has no basic step, and figures alone will not make your dance beautiful.
3 Elements You Need to Learn Tango
If you bring these three elements, you can learn tango more easily:
- Body awareness
- Musicality
- Memory
Body control: Tango is comparable to sports or art forms that require technical skill, such as tennis or playing a musical instrument. If you already have experience in these areas, tango will quickly bring you great joy.
Musicality: Naturally, we dance tango to music. At the very least, you need to be able to recognize the rhythm of the music.
Memory: All tango techniques are structured based on fundamental techniques. Therefore, we need to retain what we’ve learned to progress. A good memory is especially important!

Milonga and Practica are places to enjoy dancing tango TOGETHER. Respectful interaction with your dance partner and those present is an essential part of tango.
